The historical Max De Aloe group, composed by Max De Aloe playing the accordion, Roberto Olzer playing piano, Marco Mistrangelo playing the double bass and Nicola Stranieri playing drums, will inaugurate the rich show that will cross from 29th November to 16th December the province of Massa-Carrara.
The band will perform in one of its more consolidated and engaging projects, Björk on the moon, entirely dedicated to the compositions of the Björk music universe, an all-around artist able to surprise as a singer, musician, composer and even as an actress.
So different musical genres seem to be irreconcilable, but they are redesigned for this project that embraces contemporary jazz that will surprise the listener even less enthusiastic both in jazz and in Icelandic singer’s music.
The quartet won the Orpheus Awards as the best opera of 2015 with the Borderline CD for the jazz section. In addition to Max De Aloe, Jazz It Awards was awarded by Jazzit magazine as the best Italian musician of 2014, 2015 and 2016 in the category reserved for various instruments (violet, cello, harmonica, banjo, harp, mandolin, bass tube).
On Thursday 30th, at 9 pm, the church of San Vito in Montignoso will host Franca Masu, a wonderful Sardinian singer, accompanied by a duo of exception: Fausto Beccalossi, accordion, and Salvatore Maltana, double bass.
Franca Masu comes from jazz, but over time she specializes in a personal style and chooses to sing in the Catalan language of Alghero and creates a fusion of fascinating styles between Fado, Neapolitan music, Tango and Arabic sounds.
The sound of its voice embraces the seas from Naples to Lisbon, from Catalonia to South America; then returning to Sardinia, as in a dance of love.
With her, two talents of exquisite sensibility, Fausto Beccalossi at the accordion, a name already consecrated in the highest European jazz scene and for years in the official band of Al Di Meola, and an impeccable Salvatore Maltana at double bass, who has always been Masu’s musical director.
Two shows that inaugurate that open the way for the other 11 shows scheduled for this festival that was born as an exhibition intended for everyone, not only for workmen or specialists, and which aims to overcome the fictitious stereotype of the festival separating music genres to give everyone the chance to find passion and involvement irrespective of their favorite predilection for traditional jazz music.
