Andrea Bocelli, the Tuscan tenor beloved worldwide, performed on Easter Sunday in Milan’s Cathedral on the occasion of the event “Music for Hope”. A ray of light and hope in this difficult time for the entire world due to the COVID-19.

The opera singer was invited by the mayor Beppe Sala and the Veneranda Fabbrica of the Duomo. Bocelli made his very personal gift to the city and to the country, occupied in the fight against the Coronavirus. The event took place in the empty church first and later in the Piazza and was closed to the media and citizens. The event was live in streaming on the youtube channel of the tenor.

The concert has been amazing. A touching song like a prayer between the Gothic vaults to exorcise the coronavirus. In order, Andrea Bocelli performed Panis Angelicus by Cesar Franck as the first song. Then the Ave Maria by Bach/Gounod, the Santa Maria by Mascagni, and the Domine Deus rossiniano by Petite Messe. He ended the concert from the parvis of the Duomo, in front of an unusual, desert Piazza del Duomo singing Amazing Grace, the famous Christian hymn of thanksgiving, conceived in the 18th century and inspired by a conversion.
